The Groove August 2010 Monthly Freebie Challenge

Welcome to The Groove's Monthly Freebie Challenge!

Hello from The Groove, Scrapbook MAX!'s *free* monthly newsletter!

Each month, a featured designer offers a great freebie mini-kit and issues a challenge based on that kit.

All you need to do is download the freebie, save it, and double-click on it to import the elements into Scrapbook MAX!. Then, create a layout that steps up to the challenge, upload it to the Groove Newsletter Challenges gallery and post a link to your layout in a reply to this thread!

Details about this month's freebie and challenge are below!

This month, designer Fiona Storey has shared an elegant freebie kit that she is inviting you to use with your heritage photos.

    The Challenge:

    Here's Fiona's challenge:

Using at least ONE background and FOUR items from the mini kit you are to scrap your heritage photos. Photos MUST be taken prior to 1970, and your page must have something on it that depicts the date, be that a title, numbers or an item that depicts the era...Have fun!

NOTE: The backgrounds will import to Page >Settings in Scrapbook MAX!. Go there, then click on Background Image and Select to navigate to the freebie background folder. Embellishments will import to Object > Embellishments.

Just had to pop in and see Fiona's challenge and here it is my FAVORITE theme! Shucks! Too bad my computer is down. Times are hard and I can't afford to get it fixed but thank goodness I can get online at work and tell you all how truly WONDERFUL your pages are! LOVE how you've all done something a little different with the kit and Fiona, this kit is perfect for this theme. Hope I will still be able to download it once my computer is back up. I just love the faded colors with heritage photos. Everyone pat yourselves on the back. You've done a great job with these!

Thanks Linda Don't you just love toddlers, especially when they're just starting to walk and a bit off balance still - still tryin to figure out just how their chubby little legs are supposed to keep them up . . . There's something truly precious about that stage

Bet y'all thought I wasn't coming to this party! How could I resist such a sweet temptation, I just love vintage! This is my paternal grandmother Amelia, when she was just sweet sixteen and then with her first child Charles.

Thanks for the gorgeous kit, Fiona, very pretty and I'm loving the lace.

    Bright blessings - FS xx
