  • I feel completely lost...

    Hi there,
My name is Heather and I am from Savannah Georgia. I bought this program last summer when my husband and I were preparing our lifestyle profile for an adoption. I used it for the whole profile (although, it's nothing really exciting--mostly plain backgrounds with just pictures and writing--but this program made it really easy to edit a thousand times and then email back and forth to the agency), and after our son came into our world, I used it for his baby announcement, and for our Christmas card. I really love it, but I am about as dumb at making templates, etc. as you can get. Although, I really would like to get more involved!
So, here I am--forever trying to figure it all out!

A great place to start is to watch the tutorial videos found at http://www.scrapbookmax.com/site/tours.php. I find a lot of inspiriation in the galleries too. Everyone has a different style, so really all you need to do is start experimenting. The great thing about digital scrapping with Scrapbook MAX! is if you don't like your layout you can move things around change them to your liking without ruining expensive paper products.

    Good luck!

      Templates are easy!

Don't be afraid to try to make your own layout. I find it is easy with this program. Start with a blank page. Then add a special paper background. If you lurk long enough on this forum, many people will steer you to good free sites for paper or use the ones that come with the program. Next add a picture. Add some Journal text or a title. Guess what! You have a template! Start out simple and build your creativity as you learn. If you need inspiration, try to copy someone's entry in the gallery. When you have a page you like, put it in the gallery for all to see. Other scrappers will give you good feedback if you request it.

Welcome to SBM. You will love it here after you get your feet wet, so to speak. There are ready made templets that you can use to start with. Making your own layouts is not really hard. Glance around the gallery to get ideas like Grannywin said. Once you get used to that, then you can try uploading your layouts as templets. We are all having fun right now with the January challenge trying to do this.
