This is going to be some dumb questions, but somebody have to do the dirty work! Could somebody please tell me
How to know the difference between: 1. elements and embellishments.
    2. How do you know when it's a brad and when is it a bead.
    3. What is a scrap?
    4. What do you use mats for?
    5. Can you put mats in the same folder as papers or not?
    6. What is a journal tag?
    7. How do you know when to file something as a ornament.
Please tell me how to label my folders with the correct names for all the scrapbooking stuff.

This is going to be some dumb questions, but somebody have to do the dirty work! Could somebody please tell me

THERE ARE NO DUMB QUESTIONS --- BUT I MAY GIVE A DUMB ANSWER!
How to know the difference between: 1. elements and embellishments.
ELEMENTS ARE ANY AND ALL OF THE BITS THAT MAKE UP A COMPLETE WORK JUST LIKE THINGS IN NATURE ARE ALL MADE UP OF ELEMENTS. SOEVEN THOUGH SOMETHING MIGHT BE AN EMBELLISHMENT OR A BACKGROUND PAPER OR WORD ART THEY ARE ALL ELEMENTS - I THINK THATS RIGHT..THATS HOW I UNDERSTAND IT ANYWAY
    2. How do you know when it's a brad and when is it a bead.
A BRAD IS A "FASTENER" A BEAD IS AN EMBELLISHMENT - ANYTHING THAT "DECORATES" IS AN EMBELLISHMENT
    3. What is a scrap?
WHAT I GIVE TO MY DOG TO EAT???
    4. What do you use mats for?
TO WIPE YOUR FEET?? NO REALLY - YOU SIT THINGS ON THEM LIKE A PHOTO - THE MAT SHOWS FROM BEHIND AROUND THE EDGES TO ENHANCE THE LOOK - USUALLY INSTEAD OF A FRAME
    5. Can you put mats in the same folder as papers or not?
ITS UP TO YOU .. MATS ARE GENERALLY SMALLER AND NOT SUITABLE THEREFORE FOR A BACKGROUND PAPER
    6. What is a journal tag?
ITS WHAT YOU WRITE YOUR COMMENTS AND DETAILS ETC ON - THE "TAG" VERSION IS IN THE SHAPE OF A TAG THAT CAN BE ATTACHED WITH STRING OR A CHAIN OR WHATEVER FOR EFECT

Don't listen to Moonbeam, she doesn't have a clue. She Mustaba rocks in her head.

        Here is the enlighten explanation....

        1. Embellishments and elements in scrapbooking are really the same. We use the names interchangebly.

        2. Well, she did get this one right. A brad is mostly used to hold the pictures in place or "fasten" an image to the page, like you would use a nail to fasten something to a wall. A bead is mostly use to make necklaces, frames, etc. Is more like in real life, an adornment rather than a utility like a nail would be in real life.

        3. A scrap is a paper that is put behind a picture, an embellishments, etc. Just like you would use a scrap of material in a real album.

        4. Mats are either put behind a picture to make the picture stand out from the background, or in my case, I use it in place of a picture, then the person using the template can substitute it for their own picture.

        5. I won't tell you where to put it, is not polite. But I have never know them to fight each other.

        6. Wow, she actually got # 6 right. Moonbeam is not totally wrong, after all.

Now that we have managed to totally muddy the waters, have fun scrapping!!!
