  • Questions about printing

    Hi,
I'm brand new to even the idea of digitial scrapbooking! Stumbled onto your site today. I do regular scrapbooking, though not as often as I'd like. I love the idea of doing it digitally since I am so bad about getting my digital pics printed.

My questions are: Where do you send your finished books to have them printed into 12 x 12 format? How good is the quality? Is it pricey?

I'd like to know about this before I go ahead and purchase Scrapbook Max. It seems as though everyone here really enjoys it.

I appreciate any responses and advice. Thanks, Andrea (daisykav)

    Welcome!

    Hi,

I'm new to digi scrapping, also. You'll probably get a lot of responses regarding the printing out of the layouts. There are websites that print out 12x12s and I know someone will let you know what they are.

I like the 8x8 format for either 8x8 albums or I mount them on 12x12 paper and journal and embellish from there. You can also do the same thing by creating the layout as 8 1/2x11 or 11x8 1/2.

Hope you enjoy this great program! Others will let you know where to get the 12 x 12s printed!

        Where to send to print

        Hi daisykav -

I used to print my own, and was limited to 8.5 x 11 - but then I discovered www.scrapbookstoshare.com. I went to the website and ordered their free samples (you design a page of your choice in Scrapbook MAX, then upload it to them and they print it on the three papers they have available). You can decide before you pay anything whether you like it or not! I was satisfied with their printing, and I'm pretty picky. They use lazer technology, so it's about as close to photo quality as you can get without using true photo paper. They are VERY reasonably priced (I'm not sure if I can quote prices here!) Just check them out. Their service is excellent as well - they offer great, quick communication for any of your questions or concerns.

All the information you need is right on the website. I hope this helps!

I just uploaded fourtysome pages from them again, I had thirtysome pages last time, and I was very pleased with them.

Give them a try, I think you will be pleased. It sure is cheaper and easier then printing 12x12s at home.

Thanks! Yes, I was researching a printer that would do 12 x 12's . $499! Can you say OUCH?!

Now I just need to figure out what I'd do with my 1000 sheets of cardstock, binder full of stickers, drawers of tools.....

                Keep some!

You know why....when a good friend invites you to a scrap, you still have some stuff to use and have a great time....face to face! I still enjoy "snailing" it sometimes - when the company is good!

                  Good point!

My problem, as my scrap buddies would GLADLY tell you, is that I spend more time talking, eating, and looking at my stuff than actually scrapping. Guess that's why digital may be the way to go for me!

I have a 12x12 printer, but it is still more cost effective to send them out and have them printed, and yes as mentioned above paper scrapping is still a lot of fun especially with friends. Also my grandkids are having a blast with my special scissors punches and paper, and now that I do more digiscrapping, I am not as greedy with my stuff!!!!

                      Paper Scrapping Stuff

I'm with Marian - it's much easier to share paper and tools with kids now that I'm not so protective of my "supplies"! I still am trying to use up a little bit of my stash - but will probably donate some of it to a shelter.

We're glad to have you here! I'm going to try the free sample 12x12 layouts, too. I've been wearing my printer out!

I just went to the Scrapbookstoshare website by clicking on the above link and I couldn't find anyway to get pages printed. The site was mainly about being a consultant. What did I do wrong?!!

I'm new to this board but I just wanted to ad a word of thanks.... Though I have only played with the idea of digital scrapbooking this web link has only made the though of it more appealing. I really like what I've seen of Scrapbook Max so far (enough to invest in buying it) but I don't have the a photo quality printer to print out the finished pages of my work with as of yet with this being the case making the purchase seemed somewhat senseless to me... the other problem is knowing what photo printer to buy when it comes to printing out my pages. What I liked about fallowing the link you provided above is that it resolves that issue all together for me and after going through and reading several of the testimonials from both digital and traditional scrappers I felt very much encouraged by what I read... This could actually work for me and I wouldn't have to wait or worry about buying a printer before investing in digital scrapbooking. Plus they meet my criteria for scrapbook safety. Well my girls are up so I best log off for now.

Again thanks for the above link! It's one worth checking out!

                              Sincerely, Scrapper
