My Mistakes!!!!

Okay, I really am learning from my mistakes...... I have gone around and around with trying to locate my folders and making sure I can find them. Taking that into consideration, I thought I was doing the right thing by renaming my folders........ In doing that, SBM could not find my folders and stuck downloads etc, where ever.

I would hate for anyone to repeat my mistakes. I think I finally got it straightened out........... we will see!!!! I know we can make new folders inside the SMB folders, so that is a good thing!

I have a question for you experienced ones ...... Why or How do pictures appear within the program on the folders?!?!? Example,if you go to embellishments (inside SBM) you will have folders on the left side, some with pictures and some with yellow folders....... I have tried to add a picture from the file, I can see the picture when I add & apply it from properties tab, but when I open SBM, the picture has not replaced the folder, it's still the same yellow folder. I have a folder with the holidays. In that folder is Christmas, 4th of July, etc etc. Rather than see a yellow folder, I would like for a christmas tree, Firecracker, etc etc to be there. What's the secret????

Now this is how I do it..... (Assuming you are running windows xp like I am)There may be easier and better ways and I would be glad to hear of them. But here is my way. You can't seem to do it from within the program so I go to:
My computer/c:/programfiles/scrapbookmax/gallery/images/embellishments
Then pick whichever folder you want to change - right click on it - go to properties - customize - choose picture - double click on the picture you want on it - say ok. Then your folder should have whatever picture you chose.
Try it and let me know if it worked for you.

I think I see what you mean. From within the program embellishment folders it doesn't show up. I guess I never use that way. I just open up the SBM shortcut from my desktop and drag and drop.
Maybe the Scrapbook max experts can tell us how to get it to show up in the program.

Calling On Squeak!!!!

Marion, I noticed that Squeak has a file with an embellishment in place of the file. I guess I will need to beg Squeak to tell how that folder was replaced with an embellishment!

I had the same question back a while ago! You have to take the picture that you want to use as a folder picture and rename it
_sbmax.jpg

Then when you are inside the program, the file with that name will show up in the folder you put it in.

For example, I wanted one of my elements to be the picture on the Squeak Elements folder. I opened up the charm picture in my graphics program, and chose 'save as' file type 'jpg' and renamed it _sbmax.jpg. I saved it in the Squeaks Elements folder, and TaDa it shows up in the program!

Don't have a graphic program

Oh well, I don't think I can do it. I was using the trial version of PSP but wasn't impressed with it, because I didn't know how to use it. I tried on my own but it seemed complicated.

Thanks for letting me know. Maybe I will be able to do it at a later time.

You can even use microsoft paint that came with windows to change the name of the file and the extension. Just open the image and save as.

I tried....

I opened it in the Window's Paint and went to save as. I changed the extention on the second line to jpg. As for changing the name..... I used the original name then added the _sbmax to the orginal file name. I did not put .jpg because that appeared on the second line with tye file type.

That didn't work..... When I opened the program, I still had my yellow folder.

Don't name it anything but _sbmax. Leave of the original name.

Try again and let me know it worked.

Yes. The program will only make a folder graphic if it sees file named _sbmax.jpg
