  • Need to transfer work to laptop - How?

I recently purchased Scrapboox Max and have downloaded the program on my home PC and my laptop (we travel a lot). I started a project on the home PC and can't figure out how to get it to my laptop.

HELP - we leave in a couple days and I really need to finish this project on the road.

Do you have either a flashdrive or a cd burner? You can just transfer the information with either one of those. The project should be stored in
    My documents/scrapbookmax/projects

    Hope this helps,

      Hello,

You should export your project as a template (File > Export Template).

When you do that, be sure to uncheck 'Remove Photos', so that your pictures will be included in the template.

Then, transfer the single template file (filename.smt) to the other computer, and create a 'new' project based on that template.

      Good luck!
      Desmond.

I just transfered my files last night!

I broke down and replaced my laptop last night. To my surprize, all of my files were over a gig EACH. I was unable to transfer my files by CD or Flash because they were too small. Finally I came up with 2 options. 1. get an external drive or 2. use an ethernet cord to connect both computers together and network them. I got the ethernet cord and had some help walking me through the process. It wasn't hard at all. The good thing is that I can access the same files from either computers. Meaning, I can work on the laptop downstairs then access the files from my desktop (upstairs) and print. My printer is connected to my desktop. In the past, I was copying files from laptop to desktop via flash, in order to print. Networking the computers was such a cool discovery.

          Desmond's advise is incorrect.

Here is the correct way to backup and transfer your Scrapbook MAX! projects to a new computer:

All of your Scrapbook MAX! projects are stored in:

          \My Documents\Scrapbook MAX!\Projects\

Simply burn that folder (or any individual folder inside there) to a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM to create a permanent backup.

To transfer them to a new computer, install Scrapbook MAX! on your new system and then copy your projects back to the same location. That's it!
Scrapbook MAX! 2.0 is here!. It's simply better digital scrapbooking software!

            I ran into problems

I used the network to share the projects. When opening the projects on the new laptop, I have lost some pictures etc. I have photo markers there now!!! Why? Do I have to go back and reinstall all my pictures into the marker spots? nie

You can't "share" projects on the network. You *must* copy them to your "\My Documents\Scrapbook MAX!\Projects\" folder.
