  • About some of the new templetes

Has something changed? Lately, I have downloaded several templetes from this forum and there seems to be locks on them. I am unable to resize them. For example: PoppaBob's Panels, I can not resize them to my 11 x 8 1/2. It locks up and when I click on the HELP screen, it says that it's an 8x8. This is about 3 that I've gone to use lately that has done that! I end up deleting that page and pick something different.

Try and going to "Edit" - "unlock all" and then it should work for you. I just tried and it worked for me.

I'll be curious to know if Marion's tip helped. I didn't "lock" anything and the template doesn't behave this way on my system. If it's something I'm doing wrong when sharing, I would like to correct it. Thanks.

        Still Trying

I've been working on the pannels. I've been able to unlock it but the did not automatically adjust the layers. There appears to be a lot of layers, which I am having problems adjusting each layer individually. Still having a hard time. Could it be something in my settings? I do have a new laptop and I'm still fine tuning it.

Sketch is the other one I'm having problems with!

The other one I'm having problems with are the Sketches. When I click on the box for the picture to move it, I get a red line around it and it wont move. I've never gotten red lines around markers before. What is that and why cann't I move things around?

The red lines mean that it's pinned..... you just need to unpin it.....

Don't worry about your settings for this. I'm sure your laptop is fine. It has to do with the way the templates were designed. They were made in an 8 x 8 format.

There are four layers to the template and they are arranged in this order (from back to front).

              1. The picture.
              2. The panels themselves.
              3. The overlay. This covers up where the picture shows through in between the borders of the panels.
              4. The double line border encircling the arrangement.

For the template to work the way it does this order needs to be kept the same. As far as resizing goes, the panel layer and the overlay need to be the same size or they won't line up correctly. The picture can be any size as long as it's big enough so that the background behind it doesn't show through. The border is transparent and can be resized and moved anywhere or deleted if you don't want it.

These are the steps I just tried to redo the last template update into a 11" x 8.5".

Add the page to an album.
From the menus choose Page-->Settings-->Size Tab and choose letter. Click OK. If it asks to resize, choose no. This resizes the page and puts everything in the upper left hand corner.
Now select just the panels. It's easiest if you click right on the black border of one of the panes. Grab the lower right hand corner and holding down the shift key drag it out to the lower right corner of the page to resize it.
Now repeat that for the overlay layer to resize it.
And then again for the double lined border.
Lastly, click on the picture and resize/move to suit.

Embellish to taste and serve with cup of hot chocolate topped with marshmellows.

              Hope this helps.

If you're still having problems, let me know and I'll see about updating the template with some additional page sizes.
