Scrapbook Max! I need help!

I have uninstalled the program and reintalled it and I'm still am having troubles.
When I download a template it does not save it to the templates. You know when it says template will be in your automatically in your files... well mine isn't any more. After I dowload a template it asks me to name the file which I do then it extracts data files and opens SMB. It used to be there when I open SBM. But again, not anymore. I don't know what to do! I have since then downloaded embellsihments and that works just fine its only the templates. Please Help!!!!

sometimes I have a problem with embellishments going into templates but our is the oppostite.Sorry I did notice a few templates in embellishments as well.But I never thought anything off it till you mentioned it as I thought maybe it was the way I did it.

Can you post a link of a template that installs poorly for you?

It's all the templates in the templates gallery. It's not one specific one it's all of them. I can't even download the weekly challenge its say it's not a valid archive. What that means I don't have a clue. As I deleted the files and tried again and still don't have it. If I would download a template it normally goes into the templates, but like I said that is not happening anymore.

I can't replicate this issue -- could you please provide more info? Do you receive any sort of feedback at all?

As a test, I installed this template with the following results (please see image attachments below).

I can also locate the installed template here:
My Documents\Scrapbook MAX!\Templates\Key to Chocolate pg. 2.smt

Are you able to locate your templates in:
My Documents\Scrapbook MAX!\Templates\

Or do they not copy all-together?

It sounds like something has gone astray on your computer. The first thing to do is to reinstall Scrapbook MAX! from your CD-ROM.

Thanks so much for trying to help me. The problem is the location. I click on the template I want to download, hit the open, it then goes right to scrapbook max and it says [ Import Scrapbook ...New Scrapbook Name ...]then I give it a name and it says [extracting files] then it opens up SBM and the page is there. It is being saved into open a saved scrapbook instead of create a new scrapbook. I am trying to explain this the best I can I hope you can understand, When I go into SBM and it asks me What would you like to do, Create a new scrapbook or open a saved scrapbook, Before the templates would install into create a new scrapbook like the diagram you have above,thumbnail #3 ,then I Select a theme, but the problem is they are not there to select. I hope I explained it better.
And yes I have already reinstalled my SMB on the CD ROM.

If instead of clicking 'open', you click 'save', save it to your computer's desktop, and then double-click on it, what happens?
