  • Breast Cancer Awareness

I just wanted to post a serious note here. With a group of the size of this forum, I'm sure that Breast Cancer has affected some of us, personally or close to use. I wanted to start a Memory or In Honor of thread to those affected.

Yes, I'm a nurse and I've meet many with Breast Cancer...... Your are all loved and remembered.

In Honor of my Ex mother in law: Betty Oxford, who is a survivor and living in Colorado. .

This is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This is just a reminder to all the women and their families in our forum. I assumed that all countries share in the observance this month.

This is a worthy cause, because so many women are affected and some men too. I am a survivor, lucky in always watching my health and catching it early. Also have 2 very good friends that are survivors.

My prayers go out to all of you.

Your are a blessing to all of us! Thank you for sharing. It can happen to anyone and thank God you got it treated early!

My reason for starting this thread is because I run into women everyday that tell me that they do not get their yearly checks. The reason is usually that they've been busy and just not gotten around to it.

It is my prayer that tomorrow morning, all those who haven't gotten their checks, will find time to make that appointment.

Your also right, men are also affected by breast cancer. When I was a nursing student, I observed a breast biop and it was a man with positive results.

My mom is a breast cancer survivor too. And I have a friend who's husband just had a mastectomy, she says it is more common then you would think.
I am guilty of putting of my yearly and I will go ahead and make a appointment soon! I promise!
