  • Printing 12 x 12 layouts

I am still using the trial version of this software. I was just wondering if any of you print out your 12x12 layouts. I have seen where Epson has a good printer for these, but I am having trouble understanding if you have to use their paper or if you can print on any cardstock. Also how much ink are we talking about if we print pages with backgrounds, etc.??? I am trying to decide if I want to start scrapbooking this way or keep doing the old crop and paste style. Thanks

I have stopped paper scrapping because I spent a fortune on stuff, am still tempted , but never got around to using it! I have an Epson R300 and have alway had Epson, apart from I have an OKI laser as well. I have never used Epson papers, I just pick glossy photo, plain paper etc and use any make. The results are great.

I have a 12x12 HP printer. I set out and tested it out, and with one set of cartriges and with 11x14 glossy kodak paper being on sale at buy one get one free, cut to 11x11 and putting it on 12x12 white background paper. I get about 35 plus pages out of this. So I figure this cost me about approximately $2.00 per page to print at home. Figuring that some of the background paper is as much as 69 cents per page, stickers being extremely expensive for the nicer ones and the word art etc. plus on top of that photos being 19 to 29 cents each, I am cheaper of printing at home and having photo quality pages.
Another option is to upload them and print them on cardstock in 12x12 and then it cost about the same.

Like you 'Eng' I ALWAYS buy Epson & find they produce great results. I have a DX4850.

In Nova Scotia our ink is expensive. When we run out we through printer out and get a new one.Cheaper to buy printer as it has th ink in it.What I did was get mine developed through scrapbook max and they are great and good prices. They do a perect job.Once done all you have to do is slide them into your album sleeve. Perfect fit.
