  • Another question or 2

First, when you print out your pages (or have them printed) do they look like actual paper scrapbook pages, or do they look like a photo of a scrapbook page? Does that make sense? Like on a paper scrapbook page you have different textures of paper-photo paper (sometimes glossy) then your paper, stickers, etc.

Second, are the templates that are here in Scrapbook Max for 8x8 pages? What if you want your pages 12x12-thats what my paper scrapbooks are. Can you still use the templates and then print them 12x12?

    Thanks!

    I think I understand

1.They print out according to the paper you print on. You don't get different textures.

    2. If you go to Page, Settings , Size you can shenge the size of page to whatever you like. I think the default is 8 x 8.

Save them large !600x1600 .I send mine to Scrapbook Max as they do awesome work 12x 12 and it fits nicely into my album sleeve. reasonable prices. Do not go to Wal Mart as they make a mess with cut off heads.

I've had great success with 12x12 on printer.

I completed my grandmothers album with 12x12 print outs from digital creations and I've abandoned my wall of scrapbook supplies because of how well they look. I have a printer that will print that size..HP 9800. That was the tough part. Finding a printer to print that size paper. The other part is the paper you use to print them. I STRONGLY suggest the 12x12 Matted photo paper by Epson. It looks like simple cardstock white but it obsorbs the color really well compared to 110 card stock. And it will last 200 years compared to regular photos..ARCHIVE Quality. Look for that necessary ingredient. GOOD LUCK and have fun!!

WOW The HP9800 !!! I bet that set you back a few bucks! I have the HP8450 Although it doesn't print the 12x12 it prints beautiful photos I also recomend the Kodak Premium Photo Paper Matte 9mil The colors are so true and the LO's really pop! And sometimes it goes on sale at Staples buy 1 get one free! So thats what I ususally wait for cause at $24.00 for 50 sheets can be expensive and thats not including ink! Which is another subject that is way too costly!! But I like to print my own, and thats a price I have to pay I guess. Just puting my 2cents in!

I have bought a laser as I was told they were cheaper on ink in the long run. I can't get a glossy look though. Is it me or the machine. For once I hope it's me!If it's the machine I don't want it. I bought it with my long service vouchers from work!

No chance unfortunately! It's brilliant for everything but I don't think photo's. Hope someone tells me I'm wrong.

It prints double sided which is great, without turning the paper round.

I have a HP 9600 large format printer. I have had it for about 3 years now, and I love it. I paid approx $400.00 for it back then. I buy the kodak 11x17 Ultra premium high gloss photo paper. It is ususally $29.95 for a pack of 20 sheets, but they regularly run a sale where it is buy one get one free. I cut them in a square to 11x11 set my page print to 10.5 x 10.5 and then I put them on a white background 12x12. I ran a test and I have figured that it cost me around $2.00 or just over per page with the paper and the ink to do it this way. Also Walgreens around here now refills inkcartridges for far less money then new ones, but I haven't tried that yet. I get high quality high gloss pages and they look beautiful and the white border around the edge even looks nice because it makes my books look uniform when all the pages are the same. (My 2 cents)

Oh and the 6 inches I cut off, I cut into 4x6 for my picturemate, or other pictures, so there is no waste there.

Marion when and if you ever try to refill yout inkjet cartridges let me know ok? I heard it is cheaper but I'm afraid it will block up my printer somehow. Not sure if its worth a shot or not!

I've used compatible cartridges and they have been ok but I've heard not recommended. One printer I didn't use for a while and it blocked up completely and couldn't be repaired, thet was using the branded cartridges.

I had an hp 1220 desk jet that printed out 12x12 pages great....until it croaked. Now am drooling over the epson 12x12 printer...has anyone used this. Until Santa reads my wish list I'm having Costco print my 12x12..the paper is photo paper and should last a long time.
