  • BACK UP everything on your computer

I just couldn't believe it, my hard drive crashed just over 2 weeks ago and I have lost everything on my computer, photos, graphics, programmes, the lot. I should have backed up, but I have learned a very harsh lesson.

My husband took pity on me and has bought me a laptop as an early Christmas present, bless him. It is taking some getting used to, but I AM on line again. I am sure the fates are conspiring against me, regarding my scrapping, it has been one thing after the other these last few months.

Please learn from my mistake and back up all that you value on your computer. I am not re-installing the full version of Scrapbook Maxi until, I can put it on to my main computer when it has been repaired. I shall download the trial version on to this one, if that is ok.

I hope that all is well,

    Blessings

Oh no Mary I'm so, so sorry that this happened to you

I back up once a month, or sometimes more.

Thank you all my memories, we are hoping to do this, I have just received an email telling me the same thing.

      I appreciate your replies.

        Hi Mary, missed you!

Yeah, I learned that too the hard way, in the big crash of 2004! Lost two years worth of graphics. I'm still looking for some of those files, I forget I lost them. I back up regularly now to cds. Put all my working files on My Documents to make it easy to backup.

Well, glad you're back with us and hope your pc has a speedy recovery.

          So sorry!

What a miserable thing to happen - I'm so sorry. Thank you for warning the rest of us - it's so easy to let days and weeks slip by. I'm backing my files up tonight!

Why not install the full version of ScrapbookMax on your laptop. The trial version has a copyright on the pages so you won't be able to print them. As you already have the full version, it would be much easier than downloading the trail version.

You can have ScrapbookMax on your main computer and your laptop as long as you are the only one using the program.

I have done that myself, it's awful. I have an external harddrive that I back up on now, although I should do it more often.

Thank you for your suggestion Sambrook, I shall probably do that, depending upon how long it takes for my main computer to be repaired. I was keen to put a message on the board, so I took the easy way out.
