Help!! How do I download alphabet sets?

I have tried using alphabet sets with Scrapbook Max, but i can't!!! I know alphabet sets are not the same as fonts. I can download the alphabet sets using Winzip, but i can't use the letters individually. Do I need some other photo editing software or something? If so, is there one that's not expensive or perhaps free? All I want to do is use the alphabet sets. Please help. Thank you.

You can use them easily in SBM. All you have to do is open the folder where you have the alphabets. Then drag the sheet onto the layout page. Then you crop out the letter you want to use. Do each letter the same way.
