In all fairness to Max, I must say that hosting a forum like this one and trying to keep every one happy is not easy. I host several website for different business, and believe me, is expensive and time consuming. Making changes to the program is also not easy. There are many things to consider like, keeping the size of the program small so that it loads fast and it's user friendly; compatible with other file formats, competitive in prize for the benefit of the users; free upgrades, which very few companies do, but Max does it regularly; product support, which we do get plenty of here, believe it or not.
I have been involved in the development of other programs and websites, and I know that pleasing every one is just not possible. Max really tries to please, but there is only so much they can do at a time if at all. Let me give you an example...
There are many features that we ask for, but if they implemented them in Max, it would become more like an image editor and less of an easy to use scrapbooking program. It would make the program harder to learn and use. The learning curve would become as complicated as PS or PSP. And of course, the price would have to go up to compensate for the added developing. Pluse sometimes a seemingly simple change requires a lot of coding, which can throw something else off. Coding and decoding is not for the faint hearted.
So, please keep in mind that if the powers that be do not always add every thing we want to the program, is because in the end, it would be more of a problem than a solution. And I know from experience that no one program will do every thing we want, no matter how expensive or inclusive. I use an average of 10 programs to create my products. That is not counting the 100s of plugins and filters I use. So it's a toss up. Ease of use, speed, quality, affordability, or..... A comboluted program that is slow, expensive, and with a steep learning curve.
That being said.... Desmond, get off your butt and make the changes we asked for, you neenee! I want movable lines for object placing put in. Now!!!!
