Okay, its me again....I'm looking for some red and purple hats. I haven't seen any. Does anyone know where I can find embellishments of these? Yes, its for a Red Hat Society page. Well, not exactly a page. I'm using the software to create a dinner menu (which will function as a place card for each dinner plate) for our Red Hat dinner this Sunday. SBM is not just for scrapbook pages anymore.

Funny Story

When I was was living in Mesa Arizona (2 yrs ago) I went to the Swap Meet (A VERY BIG ONE) and noticed all the lovely purple and pink outfits and hats. I had never heard of the Red Hat Society. I finally had to ask and the lady was amazed that I had never heard of it. Here I thought it was some new craz that the kids were getting into. The sad thing was that that took place about 2 weeks after my 50th birthday. If I had known, I would of had boughten myself a new outfit to wear!

My sister-in-law was told that she could join the society too but as the younger one. I don't remember what that group is called but the soft pastels were pretty too.

We have the red hat stuff in England for paper scrapping from K and Co. I just thought theat was the name of the kit. Didn't realise it had some significance. Whats it all about?

Have you tired p c crafting they seem to have most every thing like that i need. and I believe i saw a red hat set, i love there product its drop and drag and if you right click shift you louse the background.

Hi Mint. Yes, they did have a Red Hat set, which I purchased......I think. As well as a football one. After I finalized my purchase, I hit continue to get the download screen and nadda. I got an error screen instead and couldn't go any further. I sent them an email. Hopefully I can get this resolved. I have made only 2 ventures into on-line purchases in the digital scrapbooking industry and have met with suspicious results both times. I have purchased on-line a bazillion times over the years and never had this happen. What is with these scrapbooking businesses, huh? But I thank you for the link. Its just what I'm looking for. I am hopeful that the pc crafter people will resolve this, since you said you have been dealing with them. Probably some glitch.

Back to add: I got an email from them with a download link. When I click on it, I get the same error message. "Server error, system cannot find the file specified." I guess I will call them as soon as they wake up in Utah.

Verleen: I'm wondering if you have a trojan (computer virus) that you picked up that shows up when you purchase something with your computer??? If I were you, I might have that looked at. You certainly don't want someone getting a hold of your CC number.

On a positive note, the little dinner menus that I made with SBM are just adorable. They came out really nice. I have four menus to a page. I will take them to the copy place and have enough copied for the dinner. For those interested in what the Red Hat Society is about, here is a link.

My group is called, "Ladies In Gloves". We are having a progressive dinner this Sunday. First we go to one members home for wine and appetizers...then to a second home for soup and salad and then to a third for the entree (my part of the dinner. We are surprising the girls with prime rib.). And at the last home we are having dessert. Last year, when we had our dinner, we surprised our Queen Mother with a wedding celebration at the dessert segment. She had recently gotten married. I'm not sure, but I wonder if ladies younger than 50 can join our group, but they just wear lavender and pink. Or do they have to form their own chapter? I'm not sure. We have a float for our Memorial Day parade. We've had such things as a tea party, pajama parties, go to plays/musicals, Christmas dinner, go on outings, etc.

Question Here

I have an old calender that has Red Hat Stuff on it. Can I scan it and give it away without breaking copyright rules? I don't see any offical trade marks on it.

Onie, I'm no expert on copyright laws. So I would personally err on the side of caution. I think there is no problem with using it yourself. Perhaps if you scanned it in and altered it a tad, it is no longer the same as what was on the calendar? Looking forward to seeing what others think.

Esther, do you have that in its full size somewhere? When I saved it, it save as a 1 inch by 1 inch picture....lol. My old eyes aren't that good! I couldn't even make out what was in the picture....hee, hee. I had a magnifying glass up to the screen and that didn't help. Can you just picture me trying to see it?
