I have a few questions that any help on would be wonderful.
How do I take a journal writing and make it swirl or make it curvy? Can I do this with the whole thing? Or do I have to do each word then move them around?

Pictures - is there a way I can change the shape of pictures I have selected? Some pics I would like to make longer but not wider etc.

Scrapbooks Max does not have the capability at this time to shape text. (Maybe they will add that yet in a future update) Right now I use other programs and then import the text.
If I understand your question, to shape a picture the way you describe you would have to crop it first.

thank you for you answer, that helps. I have another question, when I save a file in a zip file form, I cannot get it to open so it can be used, how do I go about this? Also, from other places you use font? How does that work? I am really learning but making some stupid mistakes, learning mistakes I call them. Thanks again.

Do you mean to use in SBM. If so click on the zip file and then click on 'extract file' on the toolbar. When it asks you where to save it to choose one of your folders and it will save it there. Open Scrapbook Max and choose the lo you want to add it too or create a new one. Click on the heart on the toolbar once it has opened and it will bring up all the contents on the left. Below the list it says 'Browse'. Click browse and it brings up all your folders. Cick on the folder where you have saved your zip file and when it opens click on the one you want. It will then insert into your lo in SBM.

Courtney, if you want to change the size of a picture without it being proportional, right click on the picture, and at the bottom of the new window, deselect the "Keep Aspect" box. Now, you can make the picture wider or narrower.
