Asking for help making templates for military book

Just wanted to pop on here and say hi...Im stuck in the hospital for awhile it seems so you guys dont have to worry about anymore questions..LOL I wont be able to scrap but atleast I can keep in touch. I really hate this place and the nurses who tell you to rest then come in and poke and prod you all night long!!! Then want to know why you didnt sleep!!! Gheesh!! Sometimes i just want to scream...guess this is one of those times...Sorry i didnt mean to gripe...

Take care ladies and once more thank you for making me a part of the sbm family......

Now you listen to those nice doctors and nurses so you can get well! I expect when I get back from my trip to find you all better and home again!

Sooo sorry to hear this news Shelby...I was afraid you were to carried away with the SBing and not taking care of yourself...that pneumonia is bad company..was in the hospital in January with the mess...so you take care and do what you are told and hurry back...we will miss you...you will be in our prayers..love Linda

Hi every one.. I've done another "mask template" just puting it here for Shelbz to find easily.. will put link in the "sharing forum".. I've seen some "colour" block Lo's around the net lately.. and thought I would give it a go.. made some "stitches" for it in a shape mask..(left a shadow as I used the black paper.. doesn't show when using other colours..no idea why?) But it's just a blank canvas so play as you like.. I've done a LO using it myself..hahahaha( couldn't resist) and will post it in the gallery..

Well it all seems to have worked well today..LOL, Put a thumbnail of what I have done with the template.. enjoy.

Shelbz I downloaded some fonts from the site too and they came up corrupt and I couldn't get them opened. I'm sorry for recommending the site before trying to download the fonts first. I will have to do what Jazz said too and see if that works for me. They have some cool fonts and I would like to download and use them.

Hey, Shelbz..we could at least make sure you have the latest and greatest SCRAPBOOK magazines to keep your skills up!! I'm just so sorry to hear about this hospital adventure of yours!! Hey..what about laptops?? Can you use them in the hospital???LOL..Can't wait to see you back in business here!! You have been a BIG focus of our attentions!!! TUrned into support the military month!! I am grey now but proud

I have been working on this for a while plus - SBM gubbled up all my memory on the C drive - i save more images and files on my other drive. Does anyone can please please tell me - how to direct SBM to save all stuff to a different drive rather then my C?

Very nice job. However, need the .smt file to be saved as a template. Did you do that?? Know how hard it is when you drive gets all used up and also trying to size the templates to the acceptable size of SBM uploads.

If you have another drive available, it is advisable to move your elements, papers etc. to that one.

How Do You

make a Mask layout...Kim can you or wonder woman make us a set of instructions on how to make the mask's...I have some questions I've been wondering about..probably dumb ones, but here goes...when you are making the mask do you make a page using your paper and embies and everything and then turn it into a mask somehow...I use Adobe Photoshop most of the time for making things but I also have Elements 5.0 which I think a lot of you use...thanks a bunch

Hi Jazz, No.. I don't put all the embies and papers and then turn them to "grey's".. I'm not sure how "wonderwoman" (and that she is!!) does it but I start with a blank white page in SBM and open my "grey's folder" in my desktop... then just start bringing in the papers as paperscraps and re-arrange them in a LO that I like.. sometimes I start with a photo and then add the papers or sometimes the otherway around.. use your "shapes" folder for different shapes etc.. and it's that simple really.. you just need to have a "balanced LO" really or picture what it would look like in "colour".. I make a lot of the shapes in PSE5- if I'm looking for something that is not in my "shapes folder" or for an idea that I had.. black "rounds" are where I would put an "embie".. be it a flower,brad etc etc.. I also just use a thin rectangular "grey" which you can use as a ribbon or a "paper".. the templates are so versatile when it comes to "making it your own"..
