  • PSP XI -organizer trouble

Is there anyone using PSP XI?

We upgraded to PSP XI a few days back and I'm having trouble with the organizer. When I add the SBM gallery folder to the organizer it shows no images in any of the folders. I've added other folders containing images from other programs and it works fine.
With PSP 8 I can browse and look through folders just like windows explorer and I see all the images in all the SBM folders. With PSP XI I have to add the folders I want to look though and it acts like images in SBM are blocked from being seen. ... has anyone else had this problem or does anyone from SBM know why this might be happening?

I can see all the images from the SBM folders in windows explorer and PSP 8. They are there [checked several times to make sure I'm not going insaine].

Relax, take it easy and enjoy.

At the moment I use Ulead PhotoImpact 10 SE....... have you ever heard of it?

Would like to use something else as this was the package which came installed on my laptop and it has limitations (wants me to upgrade to use some of the facilities!!).
I'm a bit wary of changing as maybe 'better the devil you know..............'

          Any suggestions.............

            Hi,
I have PSP XI too and the organizer is really not worth fighting with. It's a joke. I contacted customer service & they agreed with the bug I had found but didn't say anything about fixing it.

Many of us are using ACDSee Photo Manager 9 for organizing our digital scrapbooking kits & photos. It's easy to use, flexible, & powerful for finding what we need. We have a tutorial for getting started here Getting Started with ACDSee My sister & I have resources at our site DigiScrapInfo.com with a forum if you have questions or need help.

What file type are SBM pages? ACDSee views over 50 file types though - so it should view them.

In addition to ACDSee's Photo Manager that I just mentioned for organizing, ACDSee also has Photo Editor. (And we have tutorials for scrapbooking in it). It is a user friendly software that makes layers, text on a curve easy and does all of the high level things without the frustration of a big learning curve.

You can find the download for a trial & the Tutorial for getting started with it here.

i have a ulead, couldnt tell you which version off hand as i put it onto a cd a long time ago - i havent tried it for making scrapbook stuff...may have to go load it and try it out!

i play with all kinds of programmes - i have at least 6 graphics programmes on my pc at the moment but i tend to favour psp as it is a very versitile programme especially when you find extra plugins for it - you can try it before you buy but it does take up a lot of memory so be warned (well mine does cos i have so many plugins, tubes, masks, vector shapes etc!)

I've used ACDSee before [many years ago] totally forgot all about that program. PSP XI wont even let me see jpgs or pngs from the SBM folders. It acts as if the folders are empty. I'm sorting out my scrapbook files today [went through my pictures yesterday] so I'm going to move most of the files out of SBM. Glad in a way that I'm not going insane and that someone else is having trouble, if you know what I mean. Wish all programs were 100% - 100% of the time but we know thats fantasy LOL.

Thanks for your help everyone, I love this forum, you know members will always try to help, offer encouragement or just be plain generous. I'll use psp 8 for a few things, but do like some of the extra features in PSP XI so gonna stick with it for now. Hubby loves it.

I use PSP 8, and found all the other upgrades after that not as good. I bought X and gave it away! What a joke that upgrade was.

I have been using ACDSee for ages, and love it. I have an older version, but it's so good, I don't even bother with upgrades. I recommend it very highly.
