  • Hi all

I am new here and thinking of purchasing the program. I was just wondering what all your opinions are about this program compared to Adobe Photoshop Elements and other programs out there. I found this by doing a search for scrapbooking software on google. I am impressed with the program after downloading it, but I have only gotten to play around with it for a few minutes last night.

Anyway, what are some of the great features of this program? I do love the drag and drop. Can we get new templates, etc. or do we have to pay for them? I would love it if someone could explain how the program works.

Does this program have endless possibilities like some of the other photo editing software? or is it extremely limited?

    Thanks all!

Hi there and welcome (again! - I just responded to your other thread about printing! ) I'm sure you'll love Scrapbook MAX!- "drag and drop" is our middle name!

I'll let other more experienced designers and Photoshop users address your other questions. As for templates, have you checked out the Sharing Corner? You're going to be amazed at the ton of *free stuff* (YAY!) that our talented members design and share every day. Check in often for amazing templates and embellishments! (Click here to read about how to download and share templates!)

We also have very talented designers who create digital content for our Scrapbook MAX! Booster Pack Store. Check it out - I'm always blown away by the talent, creativity and variety available there.

Finally, a great resource for getting to know the program (besides hanging out and asking questions in the forums!) is reading the User's Guide, available online at www.scrapbookmax.com/webhelp, or right in the program by going to Help> Scrapbook MAX! User's Guide in the menu.

    Happy Scrapping!
    Karin

If you are just starting you digital scrapbook experience, SBM is the best program I have found and I have tried about all of them...there are some limitations on it but it was not designed to be like the Adobe Programs..these have unlimited options but are sometimes difficult to learn..one of the things I love about SBM is if you already have digital SB kits and so on you can drag and drop them into SBM..cant dowload them into the actual program but you can usethem...as Karen mentioned...the free stuff here is mind boggling..you can spend days downloading and never get to the end. a lof have already bought external hd just to hold scrapbooking things...some people are learning Adobe Elements so they can make their own papers..emblishments and so on but they use them in SBM to make their pages..even if you have never made a sb page in your life you can open SBM..and before long you will have a creation that will have people thinking you have been at it all of your life..another great thing about the templates in SBM is that you can move things around on them..replace them, take them out, resize them, whatever you want to do..you are really only limited by your imagination..I could go on and on but if you try the program you will be addicted just like the rest of us...and there is always someone here to answer your questions and help you in any way they can..all you have to do is ask..hope this answered some of your questions..someone else will add their comments and tell you other fantastic features about the program..look forward to seeing your work in the gallery and your postings in the forums..

Hi Parias.... Welcome to the forum!!!

I have tried different scrapbooking programs, and I use about 10 to 20 image editors to do my work, I have even made my own programs, but Max is the best scrapboking program I have seen anywhere. Affordable, easy to use, great support from users, great attention to our needs from the developers... We even have our own soap opera here!

One thing to keep in mind is that Scrapbook programs and graphic editors compliment each other, but they are not the same. If you try to cross the line between the two, you loose rather than gain. Many programs loose focus and become too cumberson, because they try to do too much, a good example being Photoshop. Yes, is the flag ship of graphic editors, but it's so convoluted few people ever master it. So, although we would like to have a few things added to Max, I hope they never try to implement every thing we ask for, because it would really ruin the program.

But never fear, we are here. There is lots of good stuff to be found in the sharing corner, and there is even a tutorial blog to help you do your own thing. So don't be afraid of buying the program. You will love it!
