  • Do You Have?????

Just found out that I'm getting a new baby niece SOON! Her name is Emma and she is being adopted by my brother and his wife. Emma was born Nov 15 and her pics are adorable. I received 3 pics via email. We're just waiting for delievery......... lol Sounds as if it will be within the next couple of weeks, maybe sooner.

What I am looking for: There is a poem that pertains to adopted child. I would like to do some layouts for Emma but want to include that poem. Does anyone know of the the poem ?

Anything else for the layouts would be appreciated too.

    There's this one

    My child,
I carried you in my heart
    before you were even born
    And dared to dream
    that you were real.

    My child,
I carried your picture with me
since the day I received it,
    And dared to love
a child I was yet to meet.

    My child,
I carried you in my arms at last,
    and gazed in helpless wonder
    at your face,
    And dared to lose
    my heart to you.

    And now, my child,
    a dream fulfilled,
    a prayer answered,
    a family created,
    I have dared to become
    a mom.

    And so now,
    my precious child,
    I shall carry you
    home.

      Legacy of an Adopted Child
      Author unknown

      Once there were two women,
      Who never knew each other.
One will be in your heart forever,
      The other you call mother.
      Two different lives,
      Shaped to make yours one.
      One became your guiding star,
      The other became your sun.
      The first gave you life,
And the second taught you to live it.
The first gave you need for love,
And the second was there to give it.
      One gave you a nationality,
The other gave you a name.
One gave you the seed of talent,
The other gave you an aim.
      One gave you emotions,
      The other calmed your fears.
One saw your first sweet smile,
      The other dried your tears.
      One gave you up...
It was what God intended for her to do.
The other prayed for a child,
And God led her straight to you.
      And now you ask me
      Through your tears,
      The age-old questions
      Through the years.
      Heredity or environment...
Which are you a product of?
      Neither, my darling...neither,
Just two different kinds of love.

            Onie,

I'm glad 'eng' was able to offer you the poem you were looking for. If you would like some 'inspiration' for your page/s may I recommend the following site. I find ready subject specific poetry can sometimes give me a 'kashing' moment when doing a L/O.

...and I offer you my congratulations Auntie Onie!
