  • downloading free templates...please help!

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to download some freebie templates off the internet. Can someone please tell me how to download them into Scrapbook Max! where they will show up on the templates page with the other templates? Can I even do that?

I know I can save the templates to a folder on my computer but then how do I get them into Scrapbook Max! so I can work with it???

    Thanks a bunch!!

    Tammy

When you click on the link of a template file on these forums and your browser asks you what you want to do with it, choose "Open". Once downloaded it will then be added right into the themes gallery that appears when you start a new project or add a page to an existing project.

If you have downloaded them to your computer somewhere else, just copy them to:

    ...\My Documents\Scrapbook MAX!\Templates

Then they will show up in the product.

      Hi Brett,
I have figured out how to download the templates from the Scrapbook Max! forums into the gallery but didn't know how to take a template from an outside source (i.e. internet, etc.) and get them into the gallery because it doesn't prompt me to "open"...just to save. I'll try saving them the way you told me to though! Thank you!

No. I didn't get them. When did you send them?

Tammy I sent about three of them within the past couple of weeks because I was worried about you after I got your message.
At the top of this, where it says your logged in is also where you check your messages. Hope you got everything worked out!

Just a question about installing elements, papers into Scrapbook Max. If you load a lot of things into the program, won't that slow it down? I have loads of stuff but I figured that it would slow the program if I filled it up with my stuff.

                  adding elements etc

I found the easiest way to add elements, backgrounds and photoos etc. is to just drag and drop from whatever folder they were in. The program will ask if it is a photo or embellishment or background and add it accordingly. That way you don't have to worry about getting it all stored in the right folders within the program. I just minimize the program so it shows the folder from which I wish to copy and drag the item onto my template and VOILA there it is! From there you can double click to add a shadow or a shape.

Every one has their own preferences though, so what ever works for you is fine.

                    Rhoda:

Putting a lot of content into the gallery should not slow the program down. The only affect that content has on your project is when it is added onto a page. Then it is loaded into memory.

                    mommy2MTK:

Marion is right. You can just have a folder open and drag and drop the images onto your page. If you want to make your own images part of the gallery, then just copy them to the appropriate subfolders of:

                    C:\Program Files\Scrapbook MAX!\Gallery\Images

Sort them into the proper categories. You can even make your own sub-folders if you want. For example:

                    C:\Program Files\Scrapbook MAX!\Gallery\Images\Embellishments\My Embellishments

                    Hope that helps.

Yes, that's basically it... You can place them in a folder and they should show up when you run SB MAX! I like to make an additional folder for each set of files under "Embellishments"
