This past weekend I posted my first layouts and was so excited! It really wasn't as hard as I thought with Corey's step-by-step. The only thing I can't figure out how to do is to attach a thumbnail to my message. Help please!

How to get a thumbnail attached

The screenshot is in the same folder as your template and has the name: <template name>-screenshot.jpg. So, if your template was called "Summer Memories" the file should be called ""Summer Memories-screenshot.jpg". Once you have attached the file, click the "Close this window" button to return to the "post New Thread" page. You add it the same way you added your template.
Hope that helps...

Still not sure
Thanks, Sandy. I feel like such a dummy but I'm not sure where the folder is! I think maybe it was just an accident that I got my lo s uploaded! When you publish to "image" where should the folder be? I sent mine to My Pictures and there's nothing there but the picture.
Helpppppp!Julie

Hi there! Under "My Documents", you'll find a folder called "Scrapbook MAX!"
Open that up. You'll see three folders: "Projects", "Published Files" and "Templates". If you are looking for any templates you've made, open up the "Templates" folder. You'll find all of your templates there (.smt files) along with .jpg files of the same name - the .jpg files are the ones you'll want to use for your thumbnails.
If you are just looking for published images, go to My Documents > Scrapbook MAX! > Published Files > (Name of the project folder you want) > Images - that's where any published images are stored.
Hope that answers your question- let us know if you have any other questions!

Maggie - check out my private message for more clarification (hopefully).
In the meantime, are you adding attachments throught the Additional Options part of the message board? Scroll down (below where you write your message), and under additional options, you'll find a button that says "Manage Attachments". Click on it, browse to your screenshots (as explained by Sandy and myself above), and then upload from there. Hope that helps! don't hesitate to ask more questions. There's lots of little details (and things that can go awry) if you miss a little step. Good luck!

I'm going to try it again!!
Here goes - another try. Thank you so much for your support - I know when I learn how to do this, I'll wonder why it took so long! By the way, Scrapbook Max! has really been a teaching tool for me - I'm doing things I never did before!
I just tried again and learned something. Although my file is a jpeg the error message said it was too big. Can you help with that?Julie

Hi there!
In the case of publishing pages as images, I know that you can choose to publish at different image quality levels - the lower the quality level, the smaller the jpg file. When you choose File > Publish To > Images, a box will pop up where you can change the quality level. The default is High, so try changing it to Medium or lower. Try posting this image as a thumbnail.
However - As for the screenshot that's automatically generated when you make a template, not sure how/if you can alter the quality level of this- does anyone else know?
In the meantime, if you want to post your template for sharing and a thumbnail image (but it is too large), why don't you post the .smt file for sharing (Browse to My Documents > Scrapbook MAX! > Templates, etc when you add the attachment to your message). Then, for the thumbnail image, post the pulished images of your layout pages (that you've published at Medium quality or lower) by browsing to My Documents > Scrapbook MAX! > Published Files> (Your Project name) > Images.
Does that work?

Hi Karin,
I did it - I just saved it at a much lower resolution and a small size! Hooray. Now if I can just do it again!! . . . To be continued . . .
P.S. I've been playing so hard in this program since I installed the trial version I think lots of the files I have are very strange - am going to work on understanding them and cleaning them up!!Julie
