  • Ahhhhhhh... just a thought?

Hope I'm not out of line or anything, but I thought I would share a couple of thoughts with you all...

It seems to be very common to always quote a person when answering to a post. Well, that's ok, except that pretty soon every one does it and before you know it, you must go through 15 pages to read three answers to a post. I don't know about you, but my life is running out and I would like to read all the posts in the community before moving on to bigger and better things, like eternaty in Paradise. I host three websites of my own, and believe me, it ain't cheap to do so. Out of regard for our wonderful developers here, maybe we could cut down a little on quotes?

Also, I would like to thank every single person in this community that has ever shared any goodies with the rest of us peons. Whether you created it yourself or found it for us... I still thank you for your kindness and thoughfullness. It takes time and effort to create or simply to share, and it's really an act of loving kindness that is not require of anyone. So for the many times that I have failed to do so... THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART!!!

It gets a little discouraging when we spend precious time that we could be doing our own thing, to create or find something to share with everyone, and then you notice that 80 people viewed the post (and come on, you know at least 79 downloaded it, right), yet only 4 people take the time to thank you for your effort. So, I'm trying to make ammends for my own lack of appreciation in the past.

Well, tha's all. I get a little run of the mouth now and then. It's part of being old and scrappitaded. Hope you all don't mind too much.

Hughs to ya all, specially the boys...

    Scrapitiously yours,

    ScrapyGranny

Sure, it only takes a second to leave a couple words.

Just a note Granny, the post views are not unique IPs, i.e. if you view the same thread 5 times it registers 5 views. So for 80 views it's probably 10-12 people visiting more than once usually.

Corey... Thank you so much for pointing that out. I don't feel so bad now! I hope no one was offended by my post, it was directed to myself as much as anyone.

You are right Granny, I agree.
With our forum family growing as fast as it is, it sure gets hard to keep up with all the postings, but each and every one is appreciated and cherished. (I still have to work for a living too, Arrgghhh!) My housework is already suffering and pretty soon the Grandkids won't let me take their picture any more, cause I am spending my time scrapping instead of playing with them.

What to do. what to do????

Ah, Marion... I understand. I've been looking all over the net for a cloning service, but they are either booked up, or won't do as many clones as I need. But, if I find the right one, you will be the first to know!

          Go play with the kids!

It could be the way the question is phrased. Sometimes it's easier to distill down to a specific bite-size point and then go from there. You know how it is, sometimes you read a question and you just don't get it for whatever reason. I guarantee you that if anyone here can help they will help. Please repost your question here and we'll see what shakes loose.

                  Hi Linda,

Regarding the photoshop video question - I'll have to let someone else handle that as I haven't seen it -sorry!

Do you have a specific question about Export and Import? The way that you've been using Export sounds right - Export turns a scrapbook into a template that you can use for another project.

Here's a little info on templates and the export/import function. Forgive me if I'm being too basic, but I want to make sure that I get at your question:

A Template is a starting point for your scrapbook. It's like a ready-made scrapbook where all you need to do is insert your pictures. SBM allows you to turn your scrapbooks into templates (by choosing File > Export Template) so that you can share them with others or use them again for different pictures.

The basic difference between a scrapbook and a template is that you PUBLISH a scrapbook, and you USE or SHARE a template.

As for the IMPORT function, this allows you to insert a template that you have somewhere else on your computer into SBM to use. Note that the templates that people are posting in the forums as .smt files are AUTOMATICALLY inserted into SBM when you download them, so you don't evne need to use the Import function.

For more on sharing/using templates read the following:

For a further explanation on exporting templates, you can read Chapter 4 in the User's Guide (Help > Scrapbook MAX! User's Guide) on working with pages, or view it on line at:

Note that in the guide, sometimes templates are also called "themes".

Linda - PLEASE let me know if you have other questions about this issue - we'd be glad to help. Sometimes, for whatever reason, I read a question in the forums and if I don't understand it right away, I don't answer rather than answering and confusing the other person (hoping another person will jump in.) Hope I haven't confused you, but if so, don't hesitate to ask again!

                  Karin
