  • Templates & Embelishments

Firstly, very many thanks to all of you out there who contribute templates & embellishments for us lesser mortals!! Muchly appreciated…
NOW, can anyone help me. After downloading a template which contains embellishments I don’t already have, is there any way of saving these individually into one of the embellishment folders on my system. I don’t want to go down the road of having to open the template each time to then copy over to the project I’m working on. Hope this all makes sense!!**!!

It is possible. This is what I do. I create a new album using the template. This will create a folder under projects. If you look in this new folder you should find a sub-folder called Resources. If you look in that folder you will see all the different files that make up your album. I then copy the applicable resource file to the appropriate folder under
"Program Files\ScrapbookMAX!\Gallery\Images\Embellishments" . Voila! It should now show up when you click the heart icon and select the category from the left hand side of the select dialog.

I also rename the file when I copy it over by appending the template designer's name at the beginning of the file name so I don't lose track of who did what and can give credit if I use an embellishment outside of the original designer's template.

A bit of a roundabout but it does work and you only have to do it once for any template you download.

Many, many, many thanks. I have now tried this out & it works well. I don't know what I'd do sometimes without the COMMUNITY. Everyone is so helpful.

        Oh My Goodness

How long have we been here and asking if there was anyway to save embellishments from another templete, to use later for other layouts???? And here it was all along! Thank you for this wonderful tip. I had been adding a page to an existing scrapbook that had the items I wanted. I would then copy and paste them into the page I was working on. Then I would delete that page. It worked but I like being able to save the embellishments is a folder. THANK YOU Pappabob!!!!

          Glad I could help.

And don't forget to backup those directories so you don't have to do it again in case of computer problems!
