  • Template: Spring Fun 12 x 12

I know most of you scrapbook 12 x 12, so when practical, I'm reformatting some of my templates from 8.5 x 11 to 12 x 12 so that more of you can use them! I'll be posting the 8.5 x 11 for any of you that prefer that format.

For those of you, like me, who have been having trouble uploading templates because they are HUGE files, try saving your page to a new file (very important!). Resize the pictures to web size (320 x 240) in one of your editing programs (I used the simple HP Image zone) and putting the resized pictures in place of the originals. Now re-export your template. My template went from 25 MB the first time to 2 MB with the resized photos.

    Hope you like!

Thanks for your extra effort by making the templates in a 12x12 Kristy. This one is lovely!
It is real hard to keep the size down. It also helps to use a JPG instead of a PNG for the background. I usually create the layouts in a 8x8 and upload them that way, then I convert them to a 12x12 for my own use. The quality is still very good that way and it makes the size much smaller. We are all learning together!

You know - since I started digi scrapping years ago and there just wasn't any easy way to print 12x12, I got used to designing in 8x11....now I have a hard time going back. I almost always do 2 page spreads and I figure it will be easier to make copies of my scrapbooks for my 4 kids someday if I stick to 8 x 11......but it will be impossible to paper scrap this size much longer, the scrapbook mega-store by me told me the manufacturers are fasing out of this size altogether.....

              Thanks. Get template.

I like the 12 x 12 look, but I find it easier to print them out myself if the are 8 x 8.

I just love keeping my pages to 8x8. I bought a great scrapbook just for that size with plenty of additional pages. They print out great. I agree Marion, if you use jpg for embellishments and backgrounds, and resize your photos before you use them, it keeps the size down really well. If you need a program to resize, ShutterFly has a free program you can download. Its probably the simplist program ive used. You can also crop and change the color and look of your photos too.

                      Thank U!

Thank you so much for sharing with us squares! I had thought of starting to scrap in 8.5x11 after I started digiscrapping but there aren't many albums in that size. Even the big crafting stores have very few 8.5x11 albums, so I started printing in 8x8 and now I love it!

Thanks again for the extra work!

Thanks kristy, used your beautiful template. It came in handy when I was trying to figure out how to map my little granddaughters walking experiment with my shoes.

Here's the link if you are interested to see what I did with it.
