Moonbeam your work is beautiful! Thank you so much for letting us look, hopefully someone will get back to you soon with the sharing info! I know I'm not the only one waiting!!

Hi Moonbeam, when that happens, it's because the template is larger than the allowable file upload size for the forum. I have no control over that aspect of the forum, I'm surethe programmers will weigh in on this though.

Thanks Corey.. Yeah It does seem to be the size.. which is so disappointing... There are so many templates I have to share but they are all 'big'..and I'm sure the others have many to share too but can't because of the size limit!
I was told that the limit was increased to 5mg ( some of mine were 7mb) but others I tried to share were only 3.9 & 4.6 but I still couldn't upload.
So what is the size limit?
Can I ask ( excuse my ignorance) how come there is a limit on the sharing files but not on uploading to the gallery? Incidently I couldn't even upload the templates to the gallery yesterday... I will try again though...
        Thanks for your help Corey

Hi Moonbeam, I've sent a link to this thread to the person in charge so I expect an official response will be forthcoming by Monday. Wish I could be of more help.

Thank you so much Corey.. I am so impressed with the prompt responses we get on this forum..It's fantastic support.
I have successfully uploaded a couple of templates to share tonight but they were both under 2mb so the size is definately a factor.
I will keep watching for further a reply / information..
            Thanks again,
            kind regards,

              MoonBeam's Caroyln & Daniel Template

              Moonbeam,

I was able to reduce the filesize of this template quite a bit (4.2 MB down to 900 KB) and had no problems uploading...

You had two folders of additional images ("em_GlassEdge" and "Love Words") located under the project folder. There were several 600-700 KB files in these folders that were not being used in your template, so I removed them. This dramatically reduced the filesize.

              Suggestions To All Users,

              1. If you place anything in other folders under the project (i.e. "\Scrapbook MAX!\Projects\Carolyn & Daniel\Resources\AutoPlay\Love Words") other the "Images" or "Audio", these will automatically get exported as part of your template, even if they are not being used...

              2. Use "jpgs" wherever possible (i.e. backgrounds, rectangluar swatches, any images that does not require transparency). This will help reduce the size of your project

              3. Try compositing parts of your images... In the case of this template, Moonbeam has several "words" that are individual PNG files... She can reduce her templates size a little more by merging some of those "words" together as a single PNG file.

              4. Try scaling\cropping your images in an external image editor, such as Photoshop to the approximate correct size... No sense in adding a 1600 x 1600 PNG piece of word art when a 300 x 300 might do just as well.

              Hope this helps!

                Thanks a lot Steve,
I have copied and printed out the instructions you gave - The 1st & 2nd I understand the others I'm still scratching my head but will have a go at following it and trying to work it out...I just have to put my "L" Plates on

I noticed in the screenshot you posted for me many "things" are missing? They all say "click here to select a photo" even though many are embellishments - What I do when I use embellishments or anything from folders on my system ( outside of SM) is click on the "add a photo" button to find my way to the folder and select it.... this works fine for me but when sharing here is that why it is appearing as it is with things missing, should I go via the embellishment button and browse that way??

                  Embellishments

I think I see where your particular problem might be... When you created this template, consider adding an image as an "embellishment" instead of a "photo" and use the "photo" for just that... Photos...

Try deleting the missing items (except the actual "photos") and adding them again using the Embellishment button

Alss, what program(s) are you using to create your PNGs ?

Does any of that make sense?

PNG is a file format that supports transparency... You could take parts of your word art and combine them into a single "PNG" file instead of many seperate ones...

Mmmm.. That's interesting - I'm like a new school student here - I didn't realize just how much I don't know!!! My next question is how do I do that???
I have never before used "Paint" or anything like that... I tried today to open an embellishment of a safety pin so I could "rub out" a section so it looked like it went through the paper but I just stuffed up the original picture .
when I opened it in "Paint" It had a black background - I could rub out a section OK but could not get the transparent background back -and I mistakenly "saved" it like that - now I can't use it at all

                            Hang In There Moonbeam

I haven't even tried to attach emblishments or templets yet. I am attempting to learn from what is happening to you. I have always considered myself fairly knowledgeable with computers but it is apparent that I have a lot more to learn. Just hang in there, I know you will figure it out. BTW, I too am anxious to upload some of your templetes because you've got some awsome tumbnails.
